Misti Doi Recipe
Before Giving you Misti Doi Recipe let me tell you something about Misti Doi. Mishti Doi is a fermented, rich, and creamy sweet doi (yogurt) that is a widely acclaimed Bengali dish.
It is among the foods that give an aroma of sweetness to your mouth with just the even the mention.
Enjoy this simple mishti doi dish that only requires the most basic ingredients!
Ingredients for Misti Doi:
Whole Milk 1 Cup
Evaporated Milk 1 Cup
Condensed Milk 1/2 cup
Ghee 1 Tbsp
Plain Yogurt 1 cup
Directions for Misti Doi:
- A large bowl includes whole milk as well as evaporated milk and condensed milk.
- Transfer the mixture into the saucepan, then simmer it on low heat. Stir and mix constantly, and then add the Ghee.
- Remove from the heat and let it cool to a lukewarm temperature.
- Mix it in plain yogurt. It is always recommended to bring it to room temperature, then beat it thoroughly using an ice cube or a whisker before adding to the mix. Mix everything and stir.
- Put the mixture into the baking container that you prefer. Make sure to pour the mixture at a higher level to create thick foam over the top (as shown in the video).
The oven bakes
- Set the oven to pre-heat for 5 minutes at 400 degrees F before placing the container into the oven.
- Bake at 200 degrees F for one hour. Remove the oven from the flame and let the yogurt rest in the oven for two hours. Do not open the oven, and let the yogurt rest there.
- Remove from oven, and then refrigerate for another 2 to 3 hours.
- Serve chilled
